My name is Carly and in 2020 I’ll be taking on the London Marathon and Race To The Tower, a double trail marathon. I’ve organised this virtual Twelve Day Marathon challenge to help raise vital funds for the below charities.
Family Action works to tackle some of the most complex and difficult issues that families in our communities are facing – including financial hardship, mental health problems, social isolation, learning disabilities, domestic abuse, or substance misuse and alcohol problems.
These issues impact massively on the stability of family life and will have a significant impact on the health, wellbeing and development of ALL family members. Family Action works hard to ensure that families facing these difficulties have the support they need to become stronger, happier and healthier.
Hope for Tomorrow
In 2007 Hope for Tomorrow launched the world’s first-ever Mobile Cancer Care Unit to bring vital cancer care closer to patients, enabling them to spend more time with family, friends and loved ones.
The team at Hope for Tomorrow develop, build, provide and maintain the units to support their patient who are going through cancer treatment by alleviating the stresses and strains of travelling for appointments, as well as helping to reduce hospital waiting times.
Over the last few years Hope for Tomorrow have been helping my father-in-law with his fight against cancer. The support the specialist teams have given him mean so much to our whole family, and we will always be grateful for their kindness. They are my reason to run.
